Barely a day goes by without another dreadful predator statistic. There are many reasons for their sufferings and almost all of them involve humans, so when the stats buck the trend it is time to indulge for a moment.

It is said the Mara Conservancies, in this case Mara North, have the only growing lion populations in East Africa. To spend time with these burgeoning predators is a joy and rarely is justice done with the camera, but Gillian has done a top job here.
