All over the Mara the extended house of representatives are returning to office. Even the swing areas like Mara North and Naboisho which invariably defy the opinion polls are turning out in large numbers not that anyone is counting or re-counting them. It has been a long campaign lasting many months and those who elected just to join the fray in November have missed much of the build up. The ruminants have voted to stay North, voted with their feet, delighting all.
U turns are more commonplace on the plains than Senate, yet early November drama has proved big in turn out and big in surprise, a lot more than in Washington where Kenya’s favourite son has maybe not crossed the Mara River but appears to have crossed the Rubicon.
