Sometimes aloof and alone, but sometimes in fair numbers, the giraffes see, yet say nothing. Barely a game drive goes by without these impossibly photogenic sentinels gently imposing themselves without having to stick their necks out
Mara Naboisho has the highest concentration in Africa, Laikipia has the posher brick coloured, fancy-patterned reticulated ones but wherever found they give the same quizzical looks and are grace personified.
Drinking is important for them but sometimes an ordeal, so to see two slaking in stereo close to Mara Camp is a proper reward yet not particularly uncommon in this neck of the woods.
