The 20,680 ha Mara Naboisho Conservancy is located on a prime wildlife area and lying to the east of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Naboisho brings together over 500 Maasai landowners in a 15 year partnership to safeguard the priceless wildlife and habitats.
Since its establishment early 2010, Naboisho has recorded tremendous improvement on environment and biodiversity. The Conservancy has the highest density of lions in the Mara and challenges that of the Ngorongoro. Due to the suitable habitat provided by the conservancy and reduction of harassment from human activity, the behaviour of the Naboisho big cats has changed from being strictly nocturnal and residing in heavily wooded areas of the conservancy, to using the wide space and venturing into all parts of their territories.
