Background:
Born on 1975 at Delamere Estate, where my parent used to work.
At seven years, I joined Kiboko Primary School in the Estate.
At the tender age of ten my interest in birds and captivating
wilderness surrounding Lake Elementaita influenced me greatly
whilst growing up.
After my primary education I enrolled in Njoro Boy’s High School.
I joined the school Wildlife club of which I became chairman until
I completed my Secondary education in 1994.
I started as a trainee Camp aid in 1996 at Delamere Camp in Elementaita
which thus opened up my dreams of becoming a guide. During my
stay in the camp I did a lot of birding and nature walks which
harnessed my skills to a great degree. I left Delamere Camp in
1998 and then secured a job with Craig Anthony Safaris whose Safaris
were tailored to cater for Canadian University Students who used
to come to East Africa for their field studies. I worked as a
Camp Aid and waiter before they discovered I had an ability in
guiding that enabled me to travel to many places in East Africa.
I left Canadian field studies in 2003 and worked as a freelance
guide before joining Kicheche camps in 2006. I was delighted to
pass my Silver level guiding exam in May 2007.
