Background:
I was born in Siana district in 1980 and went to Aitong Primary
and then Ololulunga Secondary school. In 2003 I obtained my Tour
Operation certificate with French at Dima College. I joined Kicheche
Bush Camp in 2004 and worked as a room attendant for two years.
I then trained to be a guide at Koyiaki Guiding school, as this
is my passion. I was delighted to obtain my guiding certificate
and complete a first aid course. I have been guiding full time
at Bush Camp since 2008 and am studying to obtain a Silver level
guiding certificate.
Qualifications & Courses:
2007 - Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association BRONZE level
Interests & Ambition:
Guiding involves a wide range of subjects but my speciality is
mammals and birds. The hyena is my favourite animal, very often
mistaken as a scavenger but actually a supreme hunter. They keep
the plains tidy by hoovering up bones, hooves and horns. I am
also fascinated that the Hyena's Alpha female is at the top of
the rank and the male, smaller, at the bottom.
My most memorable sighting was a leopard at Talek river as he
came down to the river and started to drink water next to my car
tyre and climbed up to admire himself in my wing mirror!
My long term ambition would be to manage a wildlife conservation
area.
