Dear Bush Camp, (without prejudice)

We both respect and appreciate last week’s canonisation of James Nampaso regarding the young leopard cubs, but wish to make you aware that it is not the first time Kicheche has witnessed young cubs, although having them in the leafy suburbs of the Conservancy is pretty big medicine. However, Mara Camp guides Daniel and Joseph, both with biblical back catalogues of juvenile predator moments, wish to point out that they prefer to see the thing through from the start. This couple mated right next to their vehicles, several times – a conception as immaculate as you could hope to see.

Daniel had already spent time with the feeding local pride. The senior of the two had also witnessed a kaleidoscopic fantasy as migrant Eurasian rollers vied with their lilac cousins for dragonflies. It’s hard to say whether Joseph’s Technicolor dream vote would have beaten Daniel in the lion’s den, yet these honeymooning leopards are a newer testament to the wonders of the Mara North in ‘low’ season.

Sincerely,

Kicheche Mara Camp
