"This has been our first visit to Kenya and what an amaizing experience
it has been. From our arrival in Nairobi and our time there - to our
stay in Amboseli and to our final destination at Kicheche Bush Camp
in the Masai Mara we have been overwhelmed by the stunning scenery,
the amazing wildlife and the friendliness of the people. This is a beautiful
peaceful and safe country. we urge you to visit it now - you will never
regret it. We don't want to leave and will be back" "We have recently returned from our first visit to Kenya and enjoyed
it so much we are determined to return next year. The variety and number
of animals we saw was amazing and so few other tourists so share it!
However, it was the genuine warmth of the welcome everywhere and the
way that everyone tried so hard to please us that makes us wish to return.
"Our first time in Kenya and we have had a wonderful start to
our holiday. Phil and Charlie were warm and welcoming. We're moving
onto Bush Camp next and much look forward to that. The Mara Camp staff
were warm and friendly and very helpful too. To date we cannot see why
a lot of tourists have cancelled as everywhere we have been has felt
perfectly safe and peaceful." Each day there were fresh and amazing experiences in terms of animal behaviour that we were privileged to observe. A pride of lions enjoying their kill, with two cubs being escorted by their mum to enjoy the last of the spoils, plus vultures swooping down to take the scraps and initially being seen off by a female lion. On a separate occasion we saw a pride of lions doing what lions do best - relaxing, sleeping and being together. And on another occasion we saw a herd of elephants doing what elephants do best - enjoying the mud! We saw cheetah's from the Big Cat Diary, a mother leopard and her two cubs (beautiful and brilliant), baboons with a kill, a cheetah chasing and killing an impala, some magnificent birds (including crown cranes and the wonderful lilac breasted roller). Bat eared foxes, jackals teasing a female lion, a family of spotted hyenas, were also on display. We saw crocodiles and hippos in the Mara river. And of course the many, many beautiful zebra, Thomson's gazelles, and (the not so beautiful) wildebeest. . We left camp each day at around 6.15/6.30 a.m., having breakfast midmorning out on the plains. And after lunch we were out till dusk (sometimes dark), with Sundowners out on the plains. Wow (this word was on my lips more times than was rational)! Our Masai drivers can only be described as absolutely fantastic, their ability to spot the wildlife from a distance was nothing short of miraculous. Thank you to all at Kicheche. And of course thanks to Jonathan and Paul - without whom my experience would not have been as great as it was" Janice Tipping - Stayed: 29 Mar-01 Apr 08 "Our stay has been second to none. We had our concerns that we
were doing the right thing by bringing our children to Kenya in the
present climit, but on the advise of our agents, who assured us that
there was no problem to to this area - we went ahead and are thrilled
that we did, as the children have had a wonderful taste of Africa" David Mills, UK Stayed: 18-24 Jan 08 "We had a great holiday in Kenya, despite the upheaval in the
country we felt safe and were lucky enough to experience the Masai Mara
with very few other tourists. Even though the news about Kenya is very
worrying, the local people rely on tourism for their livelihood with
each person in employment supporting between 5 and 10 others so if they
lose their jobs, many miss out. Consider supporting the Kenyans by not
disregarding the trip out of hand because of the troubles. We were very
well looked after and the Masai people are not involved in the troubles
and need supporting. This is a great trip that will certainly show you
the Africa that you've been dreaming of."
