Caracal capers

Caracal capers
9th January 2015 Kicheche Camps

Caracal, near Kicheche Bush Camp, Olare Motorogi Conservancy

For many years ‘Spot’ has rightly espoused the virtues and general elan of cheetahs, lions and indeed the pulse-quickening leopard, but none have the cachet of the captivating caracal.
To see one of these is a seismic moment for any wildlife fan. Compact, powerful, graceful and elusive, this is the hardest cat currency you can find.

Charles found one within minutes of Bush Camp, Victoria did a great job with her camera and places herself immediately in that tiny minority, that precious pantheon of those who have drunk from the cherished, caracal chalice. Outstanding.
