Day 01: Nairobi – Lewa Downs
Take the 45 minute scheduled morning flight from Wilson Airport, Nairobi
to the Lewa Downs (departure at 08:00am or 10:20 daily). You will be met
at Lewa and taken to Lewa Wilderness Trails where you can relax before
exploring the vast Lewa Conservancy. After lunch take a game drive around
the ranch in the afternoon.
Situated in the wildlife-rich Eastern corner of the Conservancy is the
Craig family home, Wilderness Trails, where guests have been entertained
in luxury for the past 30 years.It sleeps 16 people housed in 8 beautifully
decorated cottages, featuring fireplaces and verandas, and is the home
of Will and Emma Craig. and share meals around a long banquet table in
the open-air dining room. Natural springs, home-raised livestock, and
a 5-acre organic garden are transformed by skilled chefs into healthy
and delicious food. The salt-water pool is refreshing, the stables are
full of horses for guests to ride, and the clay tennis court comes equipped
with both raquets and balls.

Day 04: Lewa Downs – Masai Mara
After breakfast take the morning flight to the Masai Mara at 09:15am.
The Masai Mara game reserve is probably the most famous in Africa. Rising
grassland nearly 2000m above sea level, watered by the Mara river and
covering an area of 1500 sq. km. The Mara is well known for the part it
plays in the seasonal migration from the Serengeti of 1.3 million Wildebeest
and quarter of a million Zebra, following the annual rains. The Mara region
however provides for wonderful game viewing year round. In all 95 mammals,
amphibian and reptile species plus 485 flying species inhabit the Mara
eco-system.
You will be met by your Kicheche guide transferred across the plains
to the camp.
Kicheche Bush Camp is located in the newly established Olare Orok Conservancy
(created from Koiyaki Group Ranch lands) bordering the Masai Mara Reserve.
The camp is located in a prime wildlife area and game viewing starts right
from the camp itself. The location is also ideal to experience the wildebeest
migration. Access is from Ol Kiombo airstrip 40 minutes game drive away.
Freshen up before lunch. Afterwards, relax and absorb the surroundings
before setting off on an afternoon game drive till sunset. Return to camp
for hot showers, then an aperitif before dining under the stars.

Day 05: Masai Mara
Rise early with tea or coffee brought to your tent. At dawn set off
for another drive on the plains. Return to the camp for a leisurely breakfast.
Afterwards, take an escorted walk around the camp grounds learning about
the flora and medicinal uses of various shrubs and trees. Lunch and a
chance to enjoy a siesta in one of the hammocks slung between the trees.
Afternoon tea is followed by further game-viewing to sunset. Return to
camp for an evening around the campfire.

Day 06: Masai Mara
This morning take an escorted game walk, which takes approximately 2-3
hours, offers another perspective in viewing the terrain and fauna. Alternatively
you may wish to take another game drive this morning.This afternoon you
may wish to visit a traditional Masai manyatta (village) or take another
evening game drive.
Overnight Kicheche Bush Camp.
Day 07: Masai Mara - Nairobi
An early morning game drive in the Olare Orok conservancy or, if you
are departing in the afternoon, a full morning game drive with a picnic
breakfast is a popular trip. After returning to camp for lunch we transfer
you back to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi (departures at
11 a.m. & 4 p.m.)
